The question that I get most often during this time of the year is, can I get my kitchen remodel completed before the holidays?
Now that we are 6 weeks away from Thanksgiving, there are some remodels that are perfect for this time of the year….just in time to have Thanksgiving dinner at home.
In the kitchen, there are a variety of remodeling options that I recommend that can be completed before it’s time to cook the turkey.
1. Countertop replacement: Most of our clients are choosing to remove their old and dated laminate or Corian countertops and replacing them with either a quartz countertops (such as Silestone, Cambria, or Caeserstone) or granite. During a countertop replacement, this is also a great time to change your kitchen sink and faucet. Also consider adding a decorative edge profile to your countertops or extending a portion of the countertop to create a seating or bar area. Changing this one item in your kitchen is an easy way to make a big impact, and there are so many options to choose from.
2. Installation of Backsplash Tile: Backsplash tile can be the wow to your kitchen and bring all your design elements together. To install a backsplash tile, you don’t need to remodel other portions of your kitchen – you can simply select tile that you love and have a professional install it. A backsplash tile is a great standalone project or can be combined with other projects in this section to make a bigger impact. Current trends include subway tile, linear mosaic tile, natural stone tile, and glass tile.
3. New Flooring: FA Design Build is partnered with Flooring America. This time of the year is our busiest time in floor replacement, especially in the kitchen as our clients are getting ready for family and friends to visit for the holidays. We have seen a huge increase in popularity of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) such as Armstrong Alterna, Mannington Adura, and Flooring America Purstone. LVT is currently our #1 seller in floor covering in the kitchen due to its durability, tile look, warmth, and ease of install.
4. Painting: One of the most cost effective ways for a holiday update is to refresh your kitchen with a new paint color. While we always recommend hiring a professional, painting can be the easiest DIY in the kitchen. Choosing a color can be exciting but sometimes challenging. Our color specialist, Denise, is a great resource in paint color selection to bring all the design elements in your kitchen together.
Many of our clients choose to do all four of the above projects at the same time, and you definitely have time to complete all four before the holidays. Our design team can help you put together your dream kitchen with a big impact that you and your holiday guests will love. Our showrooms are a great place to start building your design inspirations and finding the perfect selections to update your kitchen. Our team will coordinate the design, purchase of all materials, and the installation for you – and deliver in time for your holiday feast.
